Changelog

Prev Next

The Changelog page in the Promotion Engine provides a transparent overview of all changes made to promotions. It allows users to track modifications, activations, and status updates, helping marketing and technical teams understand when and by whom promotions were changed. This feature improves operational visibility, simplifies troubleshooting, and supports accountability when multiple users manage promotions.

Accessing the changelog

To access the page, open the Promotion module in the sidebar and navigate to the Changelog tab. The page displays a list of recorded promotion changes, showing the most recent 50 entries by default.

Each record includes the following information:

  • Promotion name
The name of the promotion that was changed. The name is clickable and redirects you to the promotion’s edit page in the Management UI.

  • Promotion ID
The unique identifier of the promotion. You can copy it by clicking the Copy ID button.

  • User name

The name of the user who made the change. If the change was performed automatically (e.g., the promotion’s status changes to Finished at its end date) system is displayed instead.

  • Action type

The type of change made to the promotion, such as Modified, Activated, Finished, Archived, or Deleted.

    • Modified: A user changed one or more promotion settings. Detailed property-level changes are available by clicking >.

    • Activated: The promotion was set to active status.

    • Finished: The promotion ended, either automatically at its end date or manually.

    • Archived: The promotion was moved from Finished to Archived status.

    • Deleted: The promotion was permanently removed from the system.

  • Timestamp

The exact date and time when the change occurred.

Viewing modified settings

For actions marked as Modified, you can expand the entry by clicking the arrow icon on the left. This reveals detailed property-level information, including the property name, its original value, and the new value after modification. This helps identify exactly what was changed in the promotion setup.

Filtering changes

The filter bar at the top of the page allows you to refine the list of changes. You can filter the changelog by:

  • Promotion name

  • Promotion ID

  • User name

  • Action type

  • Date range

Enter your filter criteria and click Filter to apply, or click Clear to reset all fields.

Exporting changes

You can export the list of changes for reporting or audit purposes by clicking the Export button in the top-right corner of the page. The exported file includes all columns displayed in the grid, and if any filters are applied, only the filtered results will be exported. The exported file is generated in CSV format.
